Emergency Management Issues Special Interest Group (EMI SIG) - The Emergency Management Issues Special Interest Group (EMI SIG) is sponsored by the Department of Energy Office (DOE) of Emergency Management (NN 60) and the Office of
Transportation and Emergency Management.
The EMI SIG Steering Committee meets at least two times a year to discuss emergency management issues of interest to DOE and DOE contractors, and to plan activities for the SIG. The EMI

FEMA's Emergency Management Institute, Higher Education Project - One of the goals of the Federal Emergency Management Agency
(FEMA) is to encourage increased emergency management-related
education in colleges and universities across the United States. To
further this end, FEMA's Emergency Management Institute, Higher
Education Project has created an annotated list of colleges,
universities, and institutions offering emergency management courses
at various levels*from certificate to graduate degree programs.
Additionally, the project has developed its own outline of a potential
emergency management curriculum. It is also maintaining a working draft of an
emergency management bibliography for anyone developing hazards or
emergency management-related courses.

Pacific Emergency Management Center - The Pacific Emergency Management Center is a network of emergency
professionals, educators, trainers, local, state and federal government officials,
business executives, nonprofit leaders and neighborhood activists that believe that
the more we help each other, the safer we are going to be the next time around.
This network is set up as a nonprofit organization, created for the good of the
community, and built by volunteer experts and civic-minded people. As a project
laboratory of The Simeon Institute, it carries out research, provides international
training experiences, is developing certificate and credential programs with two of
California's premier universities, and provides support and planning services to
